5. Select either Greenhand or State Degree.
6. Select the category you anticipate to compete in.

All candidates will be judged at the district level and ranked accordingly. If selected as a Top 4 candidate the application will advance to the State Level judging.
State Finalist will be selected in February based on the application. All selected finalist will have an interview during State Convention.
*Star Greenhand only interviews at Districts and one winner is selected per district.

FARMER
The Star Farmer is awarded to the FFA member that demonstrates the top production agriculture supervised agricultural experience. The member must demonstrate outstanding achievement, active FFA participation and an exemplary scholastic record.
*Available to any senior FFA member that has completed the State Degree Application.

The Star in Agribusiness is awarded to the FFA member with the top nonproduction agribusiness supervised agricultural experience. The member must demonstrate outstanding achievement, active FFA participation and an exemplary scholastic record.

AGRISCIENCE
The Star in Agriscience is awarded to the FFA member that demonstrates the top agriscience-based supervised agricultural experience, including students who are actively engaged in doing their own research individually, as well as those students who may be cooperating on research projects with others. The member must demonstrate outstanding achievement, active FFA participation and an exemplary scholastic record.

GREENHAND
The STAR in Greenhand is awarded to the FFA member that demonstrates the top SAE project as a first year completed member. The member is able to complete any of the STAR categories listed above as part of their SAE project.
